My reading plan for 2025

This year I want to have a bit more of a plan about what I read. In the past, I've generally just grabbed whatever is on top of my TBR pile. I think perhaps it's time to put more careful thought into my choices.

I definitely want more of a balance of genres, so I might have to curb my historical fiction habit (a little bit!). I want my horizons expanded and to gain knowledge in subject areas that are unfamiliar to me. I also want to prioritize reading for pleasure. This will mean switching off the TV, putting my phone away and just fully absorbing myself in a book.

In my work as a proofreader, it's so important that I read widely and have a good general knowledge. I recently proofread a psychology book called 'Radical Listening' and it was incredibly interesting. Its ideas prompted lively discussions with family and friends and made me appraise my own communication skills. I definitely want to read more books like this in 2025.
